IntelliPad Release 4.0.5 provides several new features; two significant ones are discussed below. This release also incorporates a series of new internal architectural changes and core product upgrades. IntelliPad has been under development for several years – and it was time to upgrade some of the initial technology. Additionally, the IntelliPad installation is now more automated and administration is even easier.
One nice IntelliPad feature has always been ContactLink, which gives attorneys the ability to efficiently edit their own contacts for participation in marketing events or mailings. Now this feature is available to secretaries with Outlook Delegate rights to the attorney’s contacts.
As shown on the right, attorneys can see a list of all of their shared Outlook contacts in a browser view. Attorneys and secretaries can then add or remove contacts and even change what address is used for a particular event or list.
In addition to event and list management, ContactLink provides quick inquiry into firm-wide shared contact information, whether by person or by company. This ContactLink feature is a part of the basic IntelliPad software, not a costly option – as is true with some competitive products.
A new IntelliPad option allows approval or rejection of any contact information changes by the attorney designated as the "primary" or "sponsor" attorney for each shared contact. When any change is made to a shared contact in Outlook, the designated attorney receives an email notification, and can then approve or reject the change with comments. IntelliPad also provides a system option to determine when the change should go through, if the attorney does not respond.
IntelliPad now has a new object-oriented internal architecture that is faster and more comprehensive. Enhanced audit programs have also been added to simplify conversion efforts and to assure accuracy between Outlook shared contacts and the SQL Server database.
